Shapiro Private Collection, Manhattan Beach, CA.

An evolution from representation to a rhythmic motion of objects and paint on its own, Rhythmic combines structural elements, like perfume and alchemy related objects, as well as simply forms from which they are derived. Supported by a copper atmosphere, forms are tied by brush strokes responded by a mechanical and linear format. It can be seen as enigmatic, objects connecting with one another. It is musical as a beginning of a composition. Explosions of objects and fragments of objects overlap in a calculated process.

This painting was acquired by my Private Collector, Jerry Shapiro in 2004, and this piece was later exhibited at his home for a special event titled "First Art Salon", in March 2005. Art Talk by two artists: myself and Wilma Parker. We presented our works and lectured to a group of docents from SFMOMA and San Francisco Fine Art Museums, (FAMSF). I also presented my video: New Paintings., footage from a past solo show at SOMA Gallery, San Francisco, 2004.

This was the first and only "First Art Salon" held by Jerry Shapiro. He died a few weeks after this event. He was an avid collector and loved the fine arts. During his later years he devoted his time as a docent at SFMOMA and at the de Young Museums. This painting is now residing with Jerry's daughter in San Marino, CA.
